Hey there! Thanks for dropping by Craneballs Studios - iPhone games developers! Take a look around and grab the RSS feed to stay updated. See you around!
We’re officially announcing Multiplayer update for Overkill iOS today!
You will be able to compete with your gamecenter friends or random foes in Duel:
Both players are going to have their targets. Shooting your targets will increase your score, shooting targets of your oponnent will increase his score.
Winner will be decided at the end of the wave, higher score wins. We’re going to use standard wave system, tweaked accordingly for the multiplayer.
We’re still in the process of tweaking stuff and we’re also thinking about making more multiplayer game modes, like COOP. Any ideas very appreciated! Release date is set roughly for February 16!
If you have bought OM via Google purchase and you were not credited there is a help now. Download the most recent update 1.0.4, send us order number, how many OM you are missing and your IMEI. We’ll try to help you.

2011 was a pretty good year for us. We released Overkill, our first military and freemium game back in March. That was great success! Then we released SuperRope in July – free casual jumping and climbing game for iOS and Android. Players love it! Few weeks ago we finally released Overkill for Android. It’s doing great! Check the downloads below:
Early in 2012 we will announce the biggest update for Overkill yet! Stay tuned – you won’t be disappointed. We are also working on 2 brand new franchises and will announce them in early 2012. We can’t wait to see how busy 2012 for us will be!

Today is great day for our Android fans! Last week we released Overkill for Android in Canada and Australia. What a great success. Check the rating so far:
Overkill for iOS was our first great success. It was our first full freemium game. It has been downloaded more than 6 million times, over 60 million sessions has been played and our players have spent almost 500 years in the game combined. So it was pretty clear for us that we needed to port this game to Android. And we are excited to announce today, that Overkill is available worldwide!
It was under development for 6 months. The original Overkill was written in Objective-C and in order to run on Android it needed to be converted to Java or C++. It went more or less fine, however some problems occured. One of them was low performance of the game on different Android devices. After some optimalizations we are pretty happy with the result, as it runs smoothly on most devices.
Another problem was screen resolution. The fact, that android screens are much more wide than iOS screens, at first caused stretching of the game and that didn’t look good. In order to fix it, we added some black stripes by both sides. It looked amateurish. There was no other way than to say to ourselves “What the hell, Overkill deserves it!” and spend one more month remaking it for wider screens. We’ve repainted every level, repositioned every menu. And the result is fabulous. Finally, it looks sharp!
This week… one of our games…. is finally coming to Android!!! Guess which one it is! We are excited to announce that one of our latest game is coming to Android. Expect more details soon.
Superrope has been updated with new time mode and 2 new characters (burger and ninja). Unfortunately it’s crashing in the time mode, but an update was sent yesterday. We’re hoping for quick approval from Apple. Thank you for your patience
Here are what the players are saying about the game:
“My son actually find this app and now I play it more than he does”
“My number one game while on toilet right now”
