Today is great day for our Android fans! Last week we released Overkill for Android in Canada and Australia. What a great success. Check the rating so far:

Overkill for iOS was our first great success. It was our first full freemium game. It has been downloaded more than 6 million times, over 60 million sessions has been played and our players have spent almost 500 years in the game combined. So it was pretty clear for us that we needed to port this game to Android. And we are excited to announce today, that Overkill is available worldwide!
It was under development for 6 months. The original Overkill was written in Objective-C and in order to run on Android it needed to be converted to Java or C++. It went more or less fine, however some problems occured. One of them was low performance of the game on different Android devices. After some optimalizations we are pretty happy with the result, as it runs smoothly on most devices.
Another problem was screen resolution. The fact, that android screens are much more wide than iOS screens, at first caused stretching of the game and that didn’t look good. In order to fix it, we added some black stripes by both sides. It looked amateurish. There was no other way than to say to ourselves “What the hell, Overkill deserves it!” and spend one more month remaking it for wider screens. We’ve repainted every level, repositioned every menu. And the result is fabulous. Finally, it looks sharp!
